I can vouch for the quality this genuine patch maker delivers. The prices were extremely cheap, but the customization and customer service exceeded my expectations. 100% recommended.
The Customized Patches makes custom military, morale and law enforcement patches in the UK — subdued embroidery, PVC for field and wet-weather kit, and woven name tapes. Minimum 5 per design, free mockup within 12 hours, free UK delivery. We produce from artwork you are authorised to use and do not reproduce protected official insignia on request.
On authorised artwork — read this first
Regimental, service and agency insignia are controlled marks. We make them only for people entitled to hold them, and we may ask who authorised the order. That is not us being difficult: a supplier who will clone any badge you send is a supplier who has already made your unit's badge for someone else. Original unit designs, morale patches, commemorative and association artwork are all straightforward.
Who orders from us
| Who | Typical brief |
|---|---|
| Units, messes and associations | Unit and squadron marks, mess crests, deployment and anniversary patches, on artwork the unit holds or has authorised. |
| Cadet forces and youth organisations | Detachment and squadron badges, often small repeat runs — the 5-piece minimum suits a single detachment. |
| Veterans groups and reunions | Association crests, commemorative and reunion patches, usually a one-off run with a long shelf life. |
| Airsoft, milsim and reenactment | Morale patches, team identifiers and subdued field marks. Original designs, not service insignia. |
| Police, fire, ambulance and search and rescue | Service and team patches. These are controlled marks: we need written authorisation from the force or service. |
| Security and close protection | Company identifiers in subdued or hi-vis form, usually hook-and-loop so one garment serves several roles. |
Choosing the spec
| Need | Start with | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Subdued / low-visibility | Embroidered or PVC | Tan, olive, coyote, grey and black. Thread colours are matched to the scheme rather than the brand palette. |
| Morale patch | PVC, 2–3.5 in | Waterproof, takes abrasion, keeps fine detail. The default for anything living on a plate carrier or pack. |
| Unit crest on a beret or blazer | Embroidered, merrowed edge | Dense thread, sew-on. Fine heraldry may read better woven. |
| Name tape | Woven | Small type stays legible where embroidery would fill in. |
| Flag patch | Embroidered or PVC | Reversed-field versions available when worn on the right shoulder. |
| IR / reflective | Specialist | Ask on the quote — we will tell you honestly whether we can source the spec you need. |

- PVC patches — the default for field and morale use. Waterproof, hard-wearing, hook-and-loop backing.
- Embroidered patches — unit crests, berets, blazers, mess dress.
- Woven patches — name tapes and anything with small lettering.
- 3D embroidered patches — raised wordmarks on caps.
- Iron-on backing — not recommended here. Most military and workwear fabrics reject heat-seal film; sew-on or hook-and-loop is the right call.
